Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents Road Show, the second production in an unprecedented pairing with Gypsy, now playing in the Courtyard Theater, that will illuminate the work of composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Road Show and the critically acclaimed production Gypsy are both directed by CST Associate Artistic Director Gary Griffin. Road Show takes audiences on an unexpected musical adventure as two brothers strive for fame and fortune through "get-rich-quick" schemes. With Sondheim's characteristic depth and musicality of language, Road Show and Gypsy explore the ambitious pursuit of the American Dream during the defining period in our nation's history between the two world wars. Internationally renowned gypsy punk rock group Gogol Bordello return with their sixth full- length album Pura Vida Conspiracy via ATO Records on July 23. Produced by Andrew Scheps, the new album was recorded in El Paso, Texas at Sonic Ranch Studios and is a powerful collection of 12 surging new songs. In celebration of May Day, an ancient public holiday known for raucous celebrations, Gogol Bordello offer up a stream of their rebellious new song 'Malandrino' to get the party started.

According to the Daily Mail, Kevin Whately and Lara Pulver are in talks to join the cast of GYPSY, led by Imelda Staunton as Rose at the Chichester Festival Theatre this October. Whately would play Herbie, Rose's love interest and manager, and Pulver would star as Louise Hovick, a.k.a. Gypsy Rose Lee. The production will be directed by Jonathan Kent.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin February 18 to 23, 2014 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Appearing together again after their Tony Award winning performances in Evita, Patti LuPone joins Mandy Patinkin onstage for eight performances. Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin are two of Broadway's most venerated performers, having both won a Tony Award for their performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's groundbreaking Evita in 1980. Since then they have both starred in film, television, the concert stage and back to Broadway. An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin brings them together again - at last. Press opening night is Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

Megan Mullally is a two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will & Grace, and recent star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein. On August 28 & 29 she returns to Provincetown by popular demand - for two shows only - after her sold-out Art House debut last summer. The Bushwick Starr has announced its 2013-14 Season of Programming. The Season begins with its developing work program, the Propeller Project, which this year introduces a new piece by playwright, Kristine Haruna Lee. Main Stage shows feature an exciting line-up of theater artists: the TEAM (Mission Drift, Architecting), David Greenspan (The Myopia), Jennie MaryTai Liu (Soul Leaves Her Body), Daniel Fish and Andrew Dinwiddie (Tom Ryan Thinks He's James Mason Starring in a Movie by Nicholas Ray, Get Mad at Sin!), and William Burke (Furry). The ongoing community events and festivals, Puppets & Poets, Brooklyn Gypsy, and Big Green Theater, will continue to present new collaborative work geared towards our Bushwick neighborhood audience. And finally, the monthly Starr Reading Series will cultivate new plays in development from some of NYC's most exciting young playwrights.
