Cal Rep's staging of this timeless classic runs September 23-October 8 in the recently renovated University Theatre. This intense examination of human nature - the dangers of obsessive jealousy, xenophobia, and homophobia verses the inherent instinct for survival - was a powerful comment on current events when it was written in 1955, and resonates still.
