KEIGWIN + COMPANY (K+C) returns to The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue, NYC, for its annual weeklong season including the World Premieres of three new dances on June 12- 17, 2012.
Larry Keigwin (Artistic Director) is a native New Yorker and graduate from Hofstra University, where he received a BA in Dance. He founded KEIGWIN + COMPANY in 2003 and as Artistic Director, Keigwin has led the company as it has performed at theaters and dance festivals throughout New York City and across the country.
Maxine Heppner with Across Oceans presents the first reveal of MY HEART IS A SPOON, experimentations through dance-media that look through the lens of Japanese manga aesthetic to riff on the emotional and physical energy of an all too-common state of being: rage. Part of the Rage Project, a month-long series of events examining rage's potential as a creative force in arts and culture, MY HEART IS A SPOON runs January 19-22, 2012 at The Theatre Centre, a Dance Works Co-Works Series event, and in cooperation with the Japan Foundation.
The Martha Graham Dance Company (Janet Eilber, Artistic Director; LaRue Allen, Executive Director) will have a special engagement at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street) NYC; March 13-18, 2012. Inner Landscape, the latest offering in the company's innovative series of thematic performances including contextual media and narration, features the acclaimed Graham psychological works in which she laid bare the human psyche. There will be two programs presented by the company as well as a Family matinee show on Saturday-March 17 at 2:00pm.
