An invitation-only workshop presentation of Christopher Raymond's Scarlet Letter: The Musical will be taking place at the Greenway Court Theatre in Hollywood on Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25, it was announced today. Based on the classic novel "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the show features music and lyrics by Raymond, choreography by Angela Todaro, and the director is Kristin Towers-Rowles.

After a showcase production last winter that garnered unanimous critical praise, POP PUNK HIGH returns for a limited Off-Broadway engagement September 20 - November 1 at (le) poisson rouge -- which recently hosted Cruel Intentions: The Musical. This raucous, raunchy musical comedy celebrating all things early 2000's features a book by Anderson Cook and music & lyrics by Ben Lapidus. It is directed by Felicia Lobo.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical has announced new casting with Hayden Tee playing Miss Trunchbull alongside Rob Compton and Holly Dale Spencer as Mr and Mrs Wormwood. Gina Beck will continue to play Miss Honey, having joined the company in September 2017. Isobel Hubble and Francesca McKeown will join Sarah Munday and Olivia Wells in sharing the title role of Matilda. The multi award-winning production is currently playing its seventh year in the West End and is booking until 20 October 2019.

PANIC! PRODUCTIONS are thrilled to announce their entire Cast for the madcap holiday comedy, "INSPECTING CAROL" written by Daniel Sullivan. In addition to the headliner, Barry Pearl, Panic! Nancy Manocherian's the cell (Artistic Director, Kira Simring), who scored a hit last season with the World Premiere musical Bastard Jones, will present the New York Premiere of THE EVOLUTION OF MANN, a musical featuring music & lyrics by Drama Desk nominee Douglas J. Cohen (Children's Letters to God, The Opposite of Sex) and book & lyrics by Dan Elish (13: The Musical) based on his novel, Nine Wives. Directed by Joe Barros (Bastard Jones), the production will star Max Crumm (Grease, Disaster!) in the title role. Previews begin September 23 at the cell with opening slated for Thursday, October 4.

Vital Theatre Company is pleased to announce that the long-running hit PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL. The one-hour musical, with book and lyrics by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann and music, lyrics and orchestrations by John Gregor, is based on the best-selling children's book 'Pinkalicious' by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann. The musical adaptation is directed by Teresa K. Pond based on the original direction of Suzu McConnell-Wood.

Matt Manuel was born and raised in Detroit, MI, 'the heart of Motown.' He got his start as a competitive gymnast. When he was 13, he had to quit gymnastics, which he says broke his heart. His mother convinced him to try a piano lesson while his brother took a voice lesson. The teacher accidentally switched their lessons, which made Manuel realize he could sing. He studied theatre in high school, but once in college, focused more on vocal performance, so he would be classically trained. He was a contestant on season 13 of AMERICAN IDOL, which jump started his career. Since then, he has never stopped working. Manuel plays Marvin Gaye in MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. I had the chance to speak with him while MOTOWN recently had a tour stop in Boston, MA.

Having opened to rave reviews at the beginning of this year, the UK and Ireland tour of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda the Musical has announced today that Craige Els will extend his contract and play Miss Trunchbull at Manchester's Palace Theatre from 18th September to 24th November 2018.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that the UK and Ireland Tour of Matilda The Musical will extend into 2019, touring to six more cities and accompanied by a specially devised education programme, Change My Story, for schools.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announces the cast for its upcoming production of Blues in the Night.  Conceived and directed by Sheldon Epps, the production will feature Yvette Cason (Shout Sister Shout, Broadway and film versions of Dreamgirls), Bryce Charles (The Book of Mormon, ABC's "Black-ish"), Paulette Ivory (Disney's Aida and the West End premieres of The Lion King and Blues in the Night) and Chester Gregory (Broadway's Motown: The Musical, Hairspray and  Sister Act).  Blues in the Night will begin performances April 27 through May 20 in the Lovelace Studio Theater.
