SCARLET LETTER: THE MUSICAL Will Receive Workshop Presentation In Los Angeles An invitation-only workshop presentation of Christopher Raymond's Scarlet Letter: The Musical will be taking place at the Greenway Court Theatre in Hollywood on Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25, it was announced today. Based on the classic novel "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the show features music and lyrics by Raymond, choreography by Angela Todaro, and the director is Kristin Towers-Rowles.

The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Blair Beck, Abby Carlson, Patrick Cheek, Tyra Dennis, Andrew Diego, Everjohn Feliciano, Jackee Frome, Kevin Gilmond, Bianca Gisselle, Mackenzie Hamilton, Makayla Rowles, Jeremy Saje, Talya Sindel, Emilia Sotelo, and John David Wallis. The award-winning design team includes David Mauer (set), Jean-Yves Tessier (lighting), Brandy A. Jacobs (costumes), Julie Ferrin (sound), and Nicholas Santiago (projections).

Christopher Raymond (Music and Lyrics) is a composer, writer, conductor, and pianist. He has received NAACP and Stage Raw Awards for his work in theatre. He began his career by playing in the band for 13 The Musical at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and on Broadway. He has been Music Director/Co-Producer at DOMA Theatre Company since 2012 where he has worked on 14 musical productions. In 2017, he co-wrote the theme song for Troy - An Epic Horse Show which was performed at the 80,000-seat Beijing National Stadium. He was Music Director/Orchestrator the past two Ovation Awards ceremonies. He was also Music Director for this year's LADCC Awards. In addition to his theatre work, he worked alongside Golden Globe-nominated film composer Christopher Young from 2016-2017. Raymond is currently completing the score for a feature length documentary. He studied music at CalArts and was raised in Los Angeles.
