Music Director Sir Antonio Pappano makes his Carnegie Hall debut conducting the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in two programs, Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m.

Led by Music Director Sir Antonio Pappano, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia tours to the United States this October for the first time in nearly 50 years, performing at Carnegie Hall in New York (October 20 & 21), the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. (October 25), Symphony Hall in Boston (October 22), and Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre in Rochester (October 23).

Two new musical theater productions that explore home and heritage, identity and adventure will premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August, the result of a new collaboration between the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University.

Bravo! Vail and the New York Philharmonic have announced a five-year extension of the Orchestra's annual summer residency through the summer of 2022. The Philharmonic has been performing at Bravo! Vail since 2003.

New York Philharmonic Board Chairman Oscar S. Schafer, on behalf of the Board of Directors and Music Director Designate Jaap van Zweden, today announced that Deborah Borda has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of the New York Philharmonic, to begin on September 15, 2017. Bill Thomas, who currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the New York Philharmonic, will become Executive Director, effective May 1, 2017. Ms. Borda succeeds Matthew VanBesien, who has held the Orchestra's chief administrative post since 2012. She has served as president and CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2000, having previously served in the same capacity at the New York Philharmonic during the 1990s.

The Jurkowitz Center for Community Engagement is pleased to present For Greater Glory, the next installment of the "Movies That Matter with Hal Conklin" Film Series, on Monday, March 6, 2017 at The Granada Theatre. Set in Mexico during the Cristeros War, For Greater Glory tells the inspiring and tragic story of when the Mexican government tried unsuccessfully, but brutally, to rid the country of the influence of the Catholic Church. Ten outstanding Music Academy of the West musicians have been selected to travel to New York as Zarin Mehta Fellows in January 2017 to participate in the third year of the New York Philharmonic Global Academy Fellowship Program, which offers opportunities to train and play with Philharmonic musicians, representing an innovative approach to training the next generation of world-class musicians for successful careers.
