Europe's Balkan/Gypsy music legends Fanfare Ciocarlia are in town to perform at the wildly successful globalFEST on Sunday, January 12th, 2014.

This weekend, January 10-13 Mundial Montreal will present 3 showcases during APAP, featuring artists delivering incredible performances from Inuit throat singing to virtuosic gypsy brass, a cappella harmonies to electronically modified tablas, furious fiddles and soulful, heartbreaking melodies.

Seattle Theater Writers, a critics' circle of local theater writers and reviewers, today announces the 2013 slate of nominees of the third annual Gypsy Rose Lee Awards, theater awards devoted to recognizing excellence across the economic spectrum of professional Seattle theaters.

Robert Creighton, David Garrison, Harriet Harris, Judy Kaye, Lewis J. Stadlen, Lee Wilkof, Tony Yazbeck and Rachel York will join Christian Borle in Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh¹s Little Me, the opening production of New York City Center¹s 2014 Encores! season, running for seven performances, February 5 - 9. The show will be directed by John Rando with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Joshua Bergasse.

Jemima Rooper, Sandra Dickinson, Simon Jones and Patsy Ferran join Janie Dee, Charles Edwards and Angela Lansbury in Blithe Spirit, directed by Michael Blakemore. This new production of Noel Coward's sharp comedy of social mores opens at the Gielgud Theatre on 18 March 2014, with previews from 1 March.

Last night I had the pleasure of speaking to two of the hottest producers in Hollywood and on Broadway all about their recent smash hit December with the ratings bonanza of NBC's live presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE SOUND OF MUSIC as well as the three-network tent-pole two-night TV event, BONNIE & CLYDE - the peerless Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. After the success of Atomic Age, No.19 Music released recently from Canadian musical talents My Favorite Robot, the label has decided to enlist four acclaimed producers to provide remixes of key tracks. Detroit bad boy Jimmy Edgar, Chicago's Kate Simko, legendary techno producer Mr G and False Image all appear on this great EP. To top off the brand new remix package, the trio will kick off 2014 with a string of North American dates beginning with the debut of their live band, featuring vocals, guitar and keyboard, at Voodoo in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve. The momentum builds to their Crossing Wires Beach Party at The BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen on January 3, where they will showcase their performance alongside Timo Maas, Page Fairmont (Live), Jonny Cruz and Stefan Z.
