RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, the 2013 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of South Pacific and The Sound of Music, will play The Paramount Theatre for a limited engagement from tonight, February 24 - March 1, 2015.

Lyric Opera of Chicago will soon present Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, starring Steven Pasquale as carousel barker Billy Bigelow, Laura Osnes as his true love, millworker Julie Jordan, Jenn Gambatese as Carrie Pipperidge, Denyce Graves as Nettie Fowler, Matthew Hydzik as Enoch Snow, Tony Award winner Jarrod Emick as Jigger Craigin, two-time Tony Award nominee Charlotte d'Amboise as Mrs. Mullin, and two-time Tony Award nominee Tony Roberts as the Starkeeper. Carousel will run April 10 to May 3 at the Civic Opera House (opening night April 11).

Lyric Opera of Chicago announced casting for the remaining principal roles in its new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel. Matthew Hydzik will portray Enoch Snow alongside Tony Award winner Jarrod Emick as Jigger Craigin, two-time Tony Award nominee Charlotte d'Amboise as Mrs. Mullin, and two-time Tony Award nominee Tony Roberts as the Starkeeper. In June 2015 the New York Philharmonic will mark the 50th anniversary of its historic Concerts in the Parks, the iconic series of free outdoor performances that has been enjoyed by more than 14 million concertgoers since it was introduced in August 1965. The centerpiece of the Philharmonic's celebration will be five free performances throughout the boroughs of New York City, June 17-23, 2015; this will be complemented by a variety of activities, ranging from performances to crowdsourcing memories of parks concerts, and other online and educational projects.

Houston, January 29, 2015-Houston Grand Opera's (HGO) 2015-16 season showcases the vibrant and diverse artistic mix that marks HGO as a leading 21st-century American opera company: Wagner's Siegfried, the third installment of La Fura dels Baus's imaginative Ring cycle featuring a new generation of Wagnerians; the world premiere of Carlisle Floyd's Prince of Players; Dvo?ak's fairy tale rarity Rusalka; a holiday revival of family favorite The Little Prince from the award-winning composer Rachel Portman and librettist Nicholas Wright; a new production of The Marriage of Figaro and a new-to-Houston Eugene Onegin; a beloved core production, Tosca; and the Houston debut of Broadway sensation Rob Ashford's take on the classic musical Carousel. Through its community collaboration program HGOco, the company will present two additional world premieres: O Columbia, a chamber opera by composer Gregory Spears and librettist Royce Vavrek that examines the past, present, and future of the American spirit of exploration; and another chamber opera, by composer David Hanlon and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann, about the impact of hurricanes on the Texas Gulf coast.
