This morning, the TODAY show's Al Roker sat down with Broadway icon Chita Rivera for his Living Legends series.

Grant Almirall, star of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, joins the superb cast of the Fugard Theatre's smash hit musical, WEST SIDE STORY, at the Joburg Theatre until 5 March 2017.

The Fugard Theatre's grand-scale, smash hit, all South African production of WEST SIDE STORY is currently running at the Joburg Theatre's Mandela Theatre in Johannesburg, presented by Eric Abraham and the Fugard Theatre.

Houston Grand Opera expands its commitment to broadening the audience for opera with a 2017-18 season that includes the first presentations of Leonard Bernstein's classic musical West Side Story by a major American opera house and the world premiere of composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Royce Vavrek's holiday opera The House without a Christmas Tree. Chita Rivera is a living Broadway legend and a two-time Tony winner who originated the Broadway roles of Anita in 'West Side Story,' Rosie in 'Bye Bye Birdie,' Velma in 'Chicago,' and appeared in the original casts of 'Guys and Dolls,' 'Can Can,' 'Jerry's Girls' and many others. Producer Mark Cortale announced today that she will be coming to San Francisco for one night only on April 29 at 8:00 PM, joining a stellar season that kicks off this week with two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole on Saturday, January 7 at 8:00 PM.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the West Coast premiere of Hand to God written by Robert Askins and directed by David Ivers. The Broadway smash hit and Tony Award-nominated play begins previews on Friday, February 3, and the show runs through Sunday, March 19. Individual tickets begin at $29 and can be purchased online at berkeleyrep.org or by phone, 510 647-2949. Press night will be on Friday, February 10.

As BroadwayWorld sadly reported earlier this week, Marni Nixon, perhaps best known for dubbing the singing voices of the leading actresses in films, including THE KING AND I, WEST SIDE STORY and MY FAIR LADY, passed away from breast cancer on July 24th. She was 86.
