With his new book, author R. K. Lindsey, Jr. reminds his readers that Hawaii was once a sovereign kingdom before it was taken over by the United States of America. The Drama League (Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director; Roger T. Even better: Orange County---my home base---boasted some of the best shows, period---marking an exciting theater renaissance in brilliance and artistry that I hope continues to grow here inside L.A.'s next door neighbor. With that said, here is my Top 10 Stage Shows of 2013 from Orange County and adjacent locales nearby, followed by my picks for the year's best performances.

What a treat to see a brand new theatre company present such a fine opening show like A Man of No Importance! Now onstage at the Lillian Theatre in Hollywood, A Man of No Importance is a triumph for Good People and director Janet Miller, who has assembled a fantastic cast.
