Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for The Old Globe's revival of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. Oanh Nguyen directs the classic cult musical with book, music and lyrics by Richard O'Brien, choreography by JT Horenstein and music direction by Mike Wilkins. The Rocky Horror Show will run in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 15 - Nov. 6. Preview performances run Sept. 15 - Sept. 22. Opening night is Friday, Sept. 23 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets will go on sale online on Friday, Aug. 19 at midnight. Lynne Meadow and Barry Grove have announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner John Lithgow returns to Broadway in the Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere production of THE COLUMNIST by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. In this new play, Lithgow plays noted newspaper columnist Joseph Alsop. This limited engagement will begin previews on Tuesday, April 3 and open Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The new film Footloose will be expanded into a 'full-blown movie musical' from the earlier film with songs. In addition to starring a young Kevin Bacon as Ren, Footloose also starred Lori Singer as Ariel. It was originally written by Dean Pitchford and directed by Herbert Ross. A Broadway musical version of Footloose was previously staged in 1998. Stepping into those iconic roles are Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough. The film will be produced by the highly successful team of Craig Zadan (a producer of the original 'Footloose' in 1984) and Neil Meron. Get a first glimpse at the movie below!

La Jolla Playhouse announced today the cast and creative team of its upcoming world-premiere musical Little Miss Sunshine, by the Tony Award-winning creative team of composer/lyricist William Finn and playwright/director James Lapine. Mr. Lapine has enjoyed a long association with the Playhouse, having previously directed Merrily We Roll Along (1985) and Luck, Pluck and Virtue (1993). The production runs February 15 - March 27, 2011 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.
