Nigel Redden, Director of Lincoln Center Festival, announced the Festival's line-up, which runs from tonight, July 5 through August 5, 2012. Theater offerings include Mikhail Baryshnikov in Dmitry Krymov's staging of a new play, In Paris, as well as Sydney Theatre Company's acclaimed production of Uncle Vanya directed by Tamas Ascher and adapted by Andrew Upton. The stellar cast includes John Bell, Cate Blanchett, Hayley McElhinney, Richard Roxburgh, and Hugo Weaving.

The National Theatre of Scotland production of Macbeth starring the Tony Award-winning Alan Cumming opened this weekend (June 15) at the Tramway Theatre in Glasgow. For its final international theater production at 38 Water, St. Ann's Warehouse will present the U.S. premiere of TR Warszawa's Festen (The Celebration), one of the most acclaimed works by perhaps Poland's foremost company. Festen is a stage adaptation of The Celebration, the beloved prize-winning Danish Dogma 95 film (1998) by Thomas Vinterberg and Mogens Rukov, about the 60th birthday party of a family patriarch, at which a dark family secret is revealed. Written for the stage by Vinterberg and translated into Polish by the director, TR Artistic Director Grzegorz Jarzyna, Festen exposes the depths of a family dynamic passed on from generation to generation, a rich metaphor for the slow, inexorable workings of power, history, guilt and responsibility.

The Old Globe's 2012-13 Season will feature the World Premieres of two new musicals: Allegiance - A New American Musical by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The season also includes George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion in celebration of the classic play's 100th anniversary and the World Premiere of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Two recent Broadway hits will make their San Diego debuts at the Globe: David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People and Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. Rounding out the season are the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's Be a Good Little Widow and the Southern California Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size.
