The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, January 18 at 9:30 PM to open the Winter/Spring 2015 Season. The Meeting* has been called 'delicious and delightfully droll' by The New York Post and 'hilarious and sardonic' by The Village Voice. A story for Slate.com called the evening 'so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight.' The Fall 2014 shows sold out after a New York Times 'Arts & Leisure' piece ran in September. The January show will include a tribute to Broadway legend Ethel Merman, with special guests Klea Blackhurst, Erin Markey, Nora Mae Lyng, Molly Pope and Ben Rimalower. Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director.

This summer, London's Globe Theatre thrilled Prescott and area audiences with its presentation of 'Hamlet,' the only Canadian stop on its current international tour. Today at 12 noon (December 27th) in Toronto, the esteemed company, in partnership with MEI Events International and Arts Alliance, will continue to spread the Bard's good word in a screening of six plays starting with 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' part of its very popular 'Shakespeare's Globe on Screen' series. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Broadway production this fall, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater mounts a new staging of Fiddler on the Roof, the iconic musical that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. Helmed by Artistic Director Molly Smith, the production features choreography by Arena favorite Parker Esse, who adapts the original Jerome Robbins choreography for an in-the-round staging, and a 10-piece orchestra led by Musical Director Paul Sportelli (Arena's My Fair Lady, Light in the Piazza). The theatrical masterpiece, which garnered nine Tony Awards for its 1964 debut, weaves together a portrait of family, community and life's unexpected miracles, large and small, and showcases a jubilant and beloved score, including 'If I Were a Rich Man,' 'Sunrise, Sunset,' 'Matchmaker, Matchmaker' and 'Tradition.' Featuring a book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and based on Sholem Aleichem stories, Fiddler on the Roof runs tonight, October 31, 2014-January 4, 2015 in the Fichandler Stage.

Can a new musical be 'pre-Broadway' without having a New York theater booked, or without even announcing a timetable for said booking? How about a musical largely penned by a previously unknown writer, one who worked as a Pennsylvania policeman, and never formally studied music composition? Well, AMAZING GRACE is that show, and this expensive-looking, high-aiming show that's been in development since 2007, with book, music and lyrics by Christopher Smith (the book is co-written with the veteran playwright Arthur Giron) opened on Sunday night. So far, so good!

State Theatre Company's KRYPTONITE to Play Adelaide's Space Theatre
