Lantern Theater Company kicks off its 2018/19 season with the regional premiere of Hapgood by Tom Stoppard. Longtime Lantern artistic collaborator Peter DeLaurier will direct a cast that includes McKenna Kerrigan as MI5 spymaster Elizabeth Hapgood, with Damon Bonetti, Kirk Wendell Brown, Trevor William Fayle, Christopher Patrick Mullen, Adam Phelan, David Pica, William Zielinski, and young actors Charles LaMonaca and Will Zielinski, who will share the role of Hapgood's son Joe. Theater critics and members of the press are invited to request tickets for opening night on Wednesday, September 12 at 7 p.m. by contacting Anne Shuff at ashuff@lanterntheater.org. The Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) and Palm Canyon Theatre (PCT) join theatrical forces on Sunday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. as they bring an enchanted evening of 'The Best Of Rodgers And Hammerstein' to the desert to benefit both organizations. This cast for includes two-time Emmy® nominated actress and singer Bobbie Eakes along with the vocal talents of desert favorites Theresa Jewett, Charles Herrera, and Keisha D, who will perform numbers written and composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Members of the Palm Canyon Theatre Company will sing selections from Oklahoma!  the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus will present  'There is Nothing Like a Dame' from South Pacific, 'We Kiss in a Shadow' from The King and I and 'Boys and Girls Like You and Me' from State Fair.  The concert will be followed by a reception under the stars.

Pittsburgh CLO's THE FULL MONTY will take it all off at the Benedum Center this summer July 6 - 15. With a book written by Terrence McNally (Ragtime) and the music/ lyric talents of David Yazbek (The Band's Visit, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), this duo cooks up an aggressive crowd-pleaser that is both highly-entertaining and charmingly uplifting.

The York Theatre Company in association with Documentary Arts presents the world premiere of the new musical Lonesome Blues, based on the true story of legendary bluesman Blind Lemon Jefferson, created by Alan Govenar (Texas in Paris) and Akin Babatunde (Blind Lemon Blues), directed by Katherine Owens (How Is It That We Live or Shakey Jake + Alice), performed by Akin Babatunde with David Weiss on guitar.

Rooftop Films launched with a single screening of short films in 1997. While we've since grown tremendously-hosting over 45 events across the city every summer, with live music and after-parties- we continue to showcase new short films and the innovative filmmakers who use the form to experiment, challenge and amaze audiences. This summer, Rooftop Films will present over 100 short films in 13 programs, with each program curated thematically.

From Sunday, June 3 through Friday, June 22, 2018, conductor Michael Christie will lead the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis in the world premiere performances of An American Soldier, the new two-act opera by Huang Ruo and Henry David Hwang, at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road). Tenor Andrew Stenson (Danny Chen), mezzo-soprano Mika Shigematsu (Mother Chen), and soprano Kathleen Kim (Josephine Young) make debuts with OTSL and join bass-baritone Wayne Tigges (Sergeant Aaron Marcum) and director Matthew Ozawa for this production.

Jack promises a show reflecting his long and illustrious career. Jack Jones was born in Hollywood on the night his singer/movie star father, Allan Jones, recorded his hit 'Donkey Serenade." He would make his famous parents (his mother was the elegant actress Irene Hervey) proud for the diversity and breadth of his talent. Jack attended University High School in West Los Angeles, studying drama and singing with private teachers. A young athlete, he gave up track and football to devote himself to the arts.

With a mix of raucous humor and an audacious pop-rock score, this Americanized stage version of the hit 1997 hit film features a book by Terrence McNally (Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Ragtime, Catch Me If You Can) with music and lyrics by David Yazbek (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown). The Full Monty will be directed by Neil Dale (SDMT's Billy Elliot), with Music Direction by Don LeMaster, and choreography by Paul David Bryant (SDMT's Ragtime). The Full Monty runs January 26 - February 25, 2018, at the historic Horton Grand Theatre, with press opening on Saturday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m.

North Texas Performing Arts proudly presents Disney's The Lion King, Jr., February 1-10th at Plano's Courtyard Theatre and at North Texas Performing Arts in their new home at The Shops of Willow Bend. The performance will be in the Rodenbaugh Main Stage Theatre. Featuring a cast of actors, ages 7-15, the production is directed by Plano Children's Theatre alum, Christian Black. Choreography is by Lonnie Hightower, who performed in The Lion King on Broadway who originated the role of one of the hyenas in Disney's The Lion King on Broadway.

David Feherty is a former professional golfer on the European Tour and PGA Tour. He now works as a writer and broadcaster with NBC Sports and Golf Channel. David was born in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. He turned professional in 1976 and spent most of his playing career in Europe, where he won five times and finished in the top ten twice in the European Tour's Order of Merit, placing tenth in 1989 and eighth in 1990. He spent 1994 and 1995 playing mainly on the PGA Tour in the U.S., and the best result on the tour was a second place finish at the 1994 New England Classic. David represented Ireland in international competition and captained the victorious 1990 Alfred Dunhill Cup team and played for Europe on the 1991 Ryder Cup team.

Last night at the Minskoff Theatre, The Lion King celebrated a huge milestone- 20 years on Broadway. Creative team members Julie Taymor, Tim Rice, Garth Fagan, Lebo M., Mark Mancina, Roger Allers, and Irene Mecchi joined hundreds of alumni and others for a special performance of the show, culminating in a surprise performance by The Lion King's Tony-nominated composer Elton John.

Garth Fagan Dance has four premieres up its sleeve for its Joyce Theater engagement, November 7-12. Two of the new dances, In Conflict and Estrogen/Genius, are by Fagan, the Tony-winning choreographer of The Lion King; the other two premieres, Wecoo Duende and A Moderate Cease, are by the company's long-time dancer and Fagan muse Norwood Pennewell.
