On February 15, 2016 HAMILTON will perform its opening number live at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. Only eight musicals (nine, if you count RIVERDANCE) have had this honor since the first Grammy Award ceremony in 1959. HAMILTON will make history, yet again, as the first show to perform via satellite during the ceremony; while the ceremony is at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, the cast will be performing on their set at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.

The quintessential backstage musical comedy classic 42nd STREET will celebrate a TWO night engagement at the State Theatre with a sparkling new production, Wednesday February 3 and Thursday February 4.  42nd STREET will be directed by co-author Mark Bramble and choreographed by Randy Skinner, the team who staged the 2001 Tony Award winning Best Revival.

Billed as 'a new musical', the world premiere of Prince of Broadway at Tokyu Theatre Orb in Tokyo salutes legendary Broadway producer/director, Harold Prince. Co-directed by Prince himself and Susan Stroman (who also choreographs), the evening celebrates an illustrious career spanning over six decades from the 1950s up to the present day, during which time Hal Prince has produced and/or directed more than 30 Broadway shows, winning a record 21 Tony Awards along the way.

Portland Ovations brings the National Broadway Tour of 42nd Street to Merrill Auditorium for two performances at 2pm and 7:30pm today, October 17th.

The Chicago Public Library Foundation and the Chicago Public Library have announced that the 16th annual Carl Sandburg Literary Award will be presented to legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Universally heralded for his immense contributions to musical theater in a career spanning more than 50 years, Sondheim will be honored at the Carl Sandburg Literary Awards Dinner Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at The Forum (725 W. I could tell you that KT Sullivan and Jeff Harnar have done it again, but the truth is that they've done it even better. Their first foray into the Stephen Sondheim songbook last summer, Our Time, consisted of she sings, he sings--each watching the other perform then offering duets. This iteration titled Another Hundred People: Sullivan and Harnar Sing Sondheim—Act II (both at the Laurie Beechman Theatre), beautifully directed by Sondra Lee, considers both characters theatrically, not just vocally, but visually.

THE FOREIGNER is the last play in the 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season. Alley Resident Company member Jeffrey Bean returns to one of his signature roles as Charlie Baker. The show opens tonight, July 8, 2015.
