Academy Award-winning actress Dianne Wiest returns to CSC in Alexander Ostrovsky's The Forest, adapted by Kathleen Tolan. Before Chekhov, there was Ostrovsky, Russia's first great theatrical reformer, who forged comedy and drama into a remarkably rich theatrical mix, paving the way for a generation of modern Russian playwrights. Wiest will star in this romantic romp, where the most dangerous creatures in the forest are two vagabond actors who crash a nearby estate posing as gentry. Love, lies and laughter ensue as they turn this otherwise orderly manor upside down.

With impeccable timing, as the 2015 election campaign goes into overdrive and the political parties are once again at each other's throats, Close Quarter Productions presents this poignant and gripping family drama set against the background of the 2010 general election. The production runs from March 10 to April 4 as part of the theatre's twenty-first anniversary year.
For the delight of audiences aged five to 105, Chechoslovak-American Marionette Theater will perform its newest work, 'The Magic Garden, or, The Princess Who Grew Antlers,' an ensemble creation that is cheerfully concocted from Czech fairy tales in which antlers appear. Featuring four performers, marionettes of various sizes and assorted antique moose and deer antlers, the piece will be presented by Theater for the New City March 5 to 22. The piece is written and directed by Vit Horejs and co-created by Horejs and the cast.

Premiere Stages at Kean University, celebrating its ten-year anniversary, will present the New Jersey Premiere of Tammy Ryan's Soldier's Heart from July 10th through July 27th in the Zella Fry Theatre. Featuring Emmy award-winning actress and Premiere Stages fan favorite Kim Zimmer, this affecting new work tells the story of Casey, an American soldier who leaves her son behind to defend the country she loves. When the person she trusts most becomes her assailant, Casey returns home to face her greatest test, bringing back more than she bargained for.
