A Noise Within (ANW) presents AWAKE AND SING!, an American classic by CLIFFORD ODETS, opening Saturday, March 20 and closing Sunday, May 23, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, March 13), directed by Andrew J. Traister. Featuring veteran actor Len Lesser (Jacob), who is well known to contemporary audiences at Seinfeld's 'Uncle Leo' and highly regarded ANW Resident Artists Deborah Strang (Bessie Berger) and Joel Swetow (Myron Berger), the play also features Alan Blumenfeld (Uncle Morty), Molly Leland (Hennie Berger), David Lengel (Sam Feinschreiber), Daniel Reichert (Moe Axelrod), Adam Silver (Ralph Berger) and Alan Waserman (Schlosser).

On December 13th, Dancers over 40 will proudly honor five women whose careers, lives and deeds have exceeded expectations and whose contributions to the art of dance have been extraordinary: Marge Champion, Margery Beddow, Nicole Barth, Gemze de Lappe and Billie Mahoney.

Dr. Joy Browne - the nationally acclaimed, syndicated radio host and licensed clinical psychologist whose radio program is the longest running of its kind (heard locally in the New York are on WOR Radio Network for nearly 15 years) - will join two-time Tony-winning actress Judith Ivey in a post-show discussion about the mother of all advice experts, Ann Landers following a performance of David Rambo's play in which Ivey portrays Landers, THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS, following the Thursday, December 3rd performance at 8 p.m. at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Manhattan.

The New York Times is reporting that the producers of THE 39 STEPS have begun discussions to move the play to New World Stages (where it could take the place of The Toxic Avenger, which announced this morning that it was closing). No decisions have been made, but Bob Boyett, the lead producer, tells the paper that they hope to follow Avenue Q's successful lead if business arrangements can be made.

Frank Sinatra may have been born in Hoboken, New Jersey, but the Chairman of the Board always held a special place in his heart for the city that never sleeps -- 'The Apple,' as he called it. From a surprise appearance with Tommy Dorsey in 1955 to a 1990 concert at Radio City Music Hall, 'SINATRA: NEW YORK' follows the singer onstage at various iconic New York City venues, living out one of his most famous lines: 'If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere.' The Kimmel Center and Shubert Organization are thrilled to announce a top-notch lineup of Broadway theater as part of the new 2009-2010 Broadway Series at the Academy of Music and the Forrest Theatre. The new Broadway Series subscription season will feature: Grease starring American Idol Winner Taylor Hicks (July 7 - 12, 2009); White Christmas (Nov. 24 - 29, 2009); Dreamgirls (June 22 - 27, 2010) all at the Academy of Music; and August: Osage County (April 27 - May 2, 2010) at the Forrest Theatre.

It was announced today that the upcoming previously announced revival of West Side Story will begin previews on February 23, 2009 with an official opening slated for March 19, 2009.

WEST SIDE STORY, the landmark American musical, will return to Broadway in a new production directed by two-time Tony Award winning librettist Arthur Laurents.
