The little OPERA theatre of ny (LOTNY) will produce the New York Premiere of Carlisle Floyd's Prince of Players at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, East 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues from February 23-26, 2017.

Jazz Women of New York is a new all-woman band conceived by vocalist Lee Torchia.  The core group is pianist Jill McManus, saxophonist and flutist Carol Sudhalter, and bassist Melissa Slocum, with occasional subs from the female side of NY jazz.

The New Group announces additional casting for productions coming up in the company's 2016-2017 Season.

December at Blue Note Hawaii, the state's premier venue for the world's most celebrated artists, promises to be one of the most musically-diverse months yet. The 52nd Street Project makes a difference in the lives of countless Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by The 52nd Street Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen mentees-nine- and ten-year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education-writing for accomplished professional actors and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time. Accomplished professional actors including Sue Jean Kim (theater: Aubergine; film: Maggie's Plan, Bachelorette), Omar Metwally (film: Twilight: Breaking Dawn II, Rendition; TV: "The Affair," "Mr. Robot"), Stephen O'Reilly ("Inside Amy Schumer," "Orange is the New Black," "Girls"), Annie Purcell (The Coast of Utopia, Awake & Sing) and others will perform in Infinity and Beyond: The Ultimate Plays, the Project's Fall 2016 Playmaking show.

A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) will perform music by Rossini and Gounod, premiere a new arrangement by New Jersey composer, Raphael Fusco and present the U.S. premiere of Stories for piano and orchestra by French-Lebanese pianist and rising-star composer Rami Khalife.

Tony-nominated Broadway actress Loretta Ables Sayre is scheduled to make her Blue Note debut in Waikiki on Nov. 14 with shows at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Ables Sayre's performances will feature jazz standard selections from the Great American Songbook. Joining Loretta will be Hawaii-based musicians Jim Howard on piano, Dean Taba on bass and Darryl Pellegrini on drums.

Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce Emma Rice's 2017 summer season, the Summer of Love, marking the 50th anniversary of the summer of 1967.

The Globe has announced that Emma Rice will be stepping down as Artistic Director in April 2018, two years after her tenure began. In a statement, CEO Neil Constable said: 'Emma's mould-breaking work has brought our theatre new and diverse audiences, won huge creative and critical acclaim, and achieved exceptionally strong box office returns. In breaking the mould, this latest season has generated productive debate concerning the purpose and theatrical practice of the Globe, in relation to the use of sound and lighting technology within our theatre spaces. Following much deliberation and discussion, the Globe Board has concluded that from April 2018, the theatre programming should be structured around 'shared light' productions without designed sound and light rigging, which characterised a large body of The Globe's work prior to Emma's appointment.
