For this special show, Aztec Two-Step 2.0 will perform excerpts from their renowned Simon & Garfunkel Songbook, as well as Aztec Two-Step fan favorites.
Founding Aztec Two-Step member Rex Fowler, known for his distinctive voice and intelligent and thought-provoking songwriting, continues his ATS legacy with his wife Dodie Pettit and their expanded band Aztec Two-Step 2.0. His new bandmates have immersed themselves in the ATS catalog, creating a sound reminiscent of the original studio recordings. Going back to 1980, Dodie appeared as a guest musician on Aztec’s The Times of Our Lives album, so she already had a head start on the music. Their joy in being on stage as a band performing the songs is evident, and their personal and musical chemistry is undeniable. They have endeared themselves into the hearts of fans old and new.
And now Aztec Two-Step 2.0 also continues with ATS’s Simon & Garfunkel Songbook. They have become acclaimed for displaying the many layers and flavors of Simon & Garfunkel, from Paul & Art’s beautiful acoustic ballads to their rockin’ electric tunes.
So if you love Simon & Garfunkel, or you love Aztec Two-Step, this is a show you won’t want to miss! “The old songs done in Rex’s new lineup have brought new life to the music. This truly is a band that people need to experience!” – Ron Olesko, WFDU-FM / Folk Music Notebook.
