YouthSounds Northwest Presents Choral Concerts 5/18 - 5/19
On Saturday May 18 at 2pm, YouthSounds Northwest presents a varied and fun show titled Spring is in the Air. Director Kerstin Shaffer conducts an entertaining program that includes pieces from great family films like Toy Story, Finding Neverland and The Greatest Showman.
The following day, May 19 at 2pm, ChoralSounds Northwest (CSN) shouts Ahoy Burien in, On the Water, a concert that celebrates the deep blue seas. Highlights will include catchy sea shanties, cultural music and dance from various islands, and favorite selections including a piece from Disney's Moana and popular favorites from The Beatles, Adele, Styx and The Beach Boys.
As always, all these south sound choruses from NWAA encourage families to attend with their affordable Youth Ticket Program. Parents and adults looking for a risk-free way to introduce their children to the joys of choral music can bring young guests for free. Youth under age 17 can attend for free when accompanied by a paid adult.
These Burien-based choruses are part of Northwest Associated Arts (NWAA), which has developed a loyal and growing following with family-friendly shows that offer much more than the usual "choral concert."
