Village Theatre will present the West Coast premiere of Girl of My Dreams, a new book musical developed through Village Theatre's Village Originals program featuring songs inspired by USO acts of the era.  The new score will have music by Peter Ekstrom, lyrics by Steve Hayes and Peter Ekstrom, with book and additional lyrics by David Deboy.

Girl of My Dreams tells the story of a traveling USO troupe as they perform for the men and woman serving in World War II and the lessons they learn along the way.

The cast will feature Eric Ankrim, Joshua Bott, Chris Clay, Taryn Darr, Hugh Hastings, Mariah Taylor, Kathryn Van Meter, and David Jon Wilson.

Steve Tompkins will direct and choreograph, with musical direction by Tim Symons.  The design team includes Carey Wong (set), Alex Berry (lights), and Deane Middleton (costumes).

Throughout history, in times of peace and war, the USO has consistently delivered its special brand of comfort, morale, and recreational services to the military. Between the years of 1941 and 1947, 7,000 entertainers performed more than 428,000 USO shows.

Girl of My Dreams runs March 13-April 23 at Village Theatre in Issaquah. For tickets call (425)392-2202, or visit www.villagetheatre.org
