Village Theatre Pied Piper announces the final show of the 2008-2009 Season, the childhood favorite The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by TheatreworksUSA.

This long-running fantasy musical is based on C.S. Lewis' famous story of four siblings who venture into the secret land of Narnia through a mysterious wardrobe. This production illustrates the lessons these unlikely heroes learn as they grow with the help of the powerful lion, Aslan. With music and lyrics described by The New York Times as, "humorous and haunting," this production is praised by The Los Angeles Times for conveying "the inspirational magic that has captivated young readers for decades."

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is a condensed version of the full-length musical Narnia, with book by Jules Tasca, music by Thomas Tierney (composer of the music from Eleanor, a Village Originals work), and lyrics by Ted Drachman. It is based on the book of the same name by C.S. Lewis, which is part of the 7-volume Chronicles of Narnia series. This 60-minute musical is recommended for audiences age six and up.

The public performance of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will take place Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM only at the Everett Civic Auditorium. One hour prior to curtain, young people are invited to participate in pre-show arts, crafts, and fun in partnership with Imagine Children's Museum.
