The beloved children's book written by JefF Brown in 1964 has become a literary and pop cultural phenomenon - delighting readers and travelers all around the world. And now, TMP and the Tacoma Children's Musical Theater are bringing everyone's favorite two-dimensional hero to the stage - giving him new life in The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley.

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill ten-year-old: normal mom and dad, normal little brother, normal life. That's just the problem...for Stanley, life is too normal. He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one's ever seen before. Careful what you wish for, Stanley!

Directed by Harry Turpin, "Stanley" (Niclas Olson) wakes up one morning... flat. Not just kind of flat...really, REALLY flat! In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley - the ultimate exchange student - scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He's stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood to France to Honolulu and beyond. Presented by TMP's regular adult performers, TCMT's fully-staged musicals based on classic children's literature are a great reason to make a family date and enjoy a trip to the theater!

Flat Stanley runs for only SIX performances, performing Saturdays at 2pm and 5pm, and Sundays at 2 pm from today, February 16-24, 2013. Performances take place at Tacoma Musical Playhouse, 7116 6th Avenue in Tacoma.

All seating for TMP Mainstage and TCMT productions is reserved, so advance purchase is strongly recommended. These popular performances do sell out in advance. Single ticket prices range from $12-$19. Group rate of $10 per ticket is available for groups of 10 or more. See www.tmp.org/etiquette.aspx for information about bringing small children to TMP.
