As part of the premiere of Bring Down the House Seattle Shakespeare Company has launched Show Us Your Shakespeare - a video competition to encourage and challenge young people all over the Puget Sound region to put their own spin on Shakespeare.

The Show Us Your Shakespeare video competition is open to anyone who is age 20 years old or younger who can record a video, no longer than 90 seconds, of a speech from any of Shakespeare's plays. The speech must be for a character whose gender is opposite of the contestant. Non-binary contestants can choose a speech from any gender.

No props, costumes, or fancy special effects are needed or desired. The contestant and the words of Shakespeare are all that are required for the video.

All Show Us Your Shakespeare video entries will be judged by a panel from Seattle Shakespeare Company and upstart crow collective. Three winners will be chosen. Winners will receive: a voucher for a pair of tickets each to part 1 and part 2 of Bring Down the House; their video displayed on Seattle Shakespeare Company's website; their video displayed in the lobby during the run of Bring Down the House. The competition closes on January 13, 2017 at 5PM.
