Seattle Public Theater Presents HOLIDAY NOIR!, Now thru 12/24

By:

Just when it was safe to assume that holiday shows have all been done, a new play comes along to slap that assumption in the face. Christmastown: A Holiday Noir is a new play by Wayne Rawley, directed by Gregory-Award winner Kelly Kitchens, and premiering at Seattle Public Theater today, December 5-24.

A newly-commissioned play from Seattle's playwright Wayne Rawley Christmastown: A Holiday Noir is a tightly wrapped comedy packed with all the trimmings of your favorite hard-boiled detective fiction from the 1940's noir genre. Christmastown explores the dark side of the holidays with a wry detective, a gorgeous elf, a team of gangster reindeer, and a used tree salesman(!) . Directed by Gregory-award winning Kelly Kitchens (Arcadia, Slowgirl), the adult comedy features Nick Holiday (John Ulman) as the ultimate low-life private detective who gets a surprise visit from sexy elf Holly Wonderland (Amber Wolfe) that spins him on a search for the truth and meaning of Christmas. Featuring the additional talents of Rhonda J. Soikowski and Brandon Felker in multiple roles.

Christmastown is stage managed by Ariel Bui and features Set design by Kyna Shilling, Costume design by Samantha Armitage, Properties design by Krissy Grant, Lighting design by Caleb Rupert, and co-sound design by Jay Weinland and Robertson Witmer.

Christmastown: A Holiday Noir is sponsored by the Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture, 4Culture, ArtsFund, KUOW, Keeney's Office Supply, and GP Realty Finance.
