Celebrating the first anniversary of our Neptune Theatre Grand Opening

Join STG's funk & soul celebration featuring the sounds of Seattle's 60's and 70's music scene with some of the great music legends who put Seattle on the national R & B music map!

Wheedles Groove enjoys international acclaim since the release of the documentary by the same name, celebrating Seattle's live rhythm and blues music scene from the 60's and 70's.  If that's not enough to get your platforms tapping, this special night will also feature Acapulco Gold with that signature horn section!  It's a celebration of epic musical proportion, and in honor of Wheedles Groove Seattle reissue label (Light in the Attic) 10-year anniversary.

Put on your clubbin hats and your dancin shoes and get ready to get all the way down!

Originally from Port au Prince, Haiti, choreographer and dancer Kettly Noël has created a body of dance work over the past 15 years, seen widely in Africa and Europe, that deals with identity and the fight for position of African artists and women, and incudes Ti'chelbe, Errance, L'Autre, Zones Humides Imaginaires and Bonjour Madame Noël.

Nelisiwe Xaba was born and raised in Soweto, South Africa, and was a company member of the Pact Dance Company for several years, touring Europe and the Mideast. She has worked with a variety of choreographers, visual and theatre artists, particularly Robyn Orlin, with whom she created works such as "Daddy I've seen This Piece Six Times Before and I Still Don't Know Why They're Hurting Each Other," which toured for several years, winning the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance.

Correspondances is a lively and sophisticated duet that is part theater, part dance and part storytelling. Kettly Noël and Nelisiwe Xaba come together for a raucous conversation on diverse subjects - ranging from the superficial to the profound - that addresses the intimate fabric of friendship while exploring themes of race, culture, and gender.
