Puppet School is celebrating the launch of their Seattle branch by holding an Open House at their Inscape Arts studio, January 31st from 6 to 8pm. In keeping with the spirit of Puppet School Seattle's location and Chinese New Year, the theme of the party is "2014: The Year of the Puppet."

Puppet School was founded in Los Angeles by Roberto Ferreira and Emmy Award-winning puppeteer Michael Earl (better known to many as Mr. Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street). After three years teaching popular puppet performance and construction courses for adults, Puppet School has grown enough to expand to both San Francisco and Seattle.

"I couldn't be more excited about this new chapter of our school, especially with our home base at Inscape Arts" said Puppet School CEO Roberto Ferreira."Our students will immerse themselves into a space filled with art and artists, giving them a lot of inspiration even before they enter our doors."

Puppet School Seattle will be run by Chad Allers of local Production Company Crash Boom Puppets (In Stitches, Viva la Puppets). Joining the staff later in the spring are Annett Mateo (James and the Giant Peach at Seattle Children's Theatre) and Rachel Jackson (MANOS - The Hands of Felt at Vox Fabuli Puppets).

"Chad has assembled a great team in Seattle," said Ferreira. "Having so much talent and experience available to our students will be very valuable for them."

The Open House will feature a chance to talk with the Puppet School co-founders and local staff plus: snacks, entertainment, a raffle and a special discount when you sign-up for a class on-site.
