Midnight Rice Productions and Theatre Off Jackson Present THE TWO KIDS THAT BLOW SHIT UP
Midnight Rice Productions in association with Theatre Off Jackson presents the Seattle premiere of "The Two Kids That Blow Shit Up" an explosive new play by Asian-American Playwright Carla Ching. It's modern, exciting, funny, and heartbreaking. It speaks to today's experiences of falling in love, dating, abuse, addiction and navigating the world with dysfunctional parents. Playing July 20 - August 5 at Theater Off Jackson.
As kids, Max and Diana meet on their parents' date, then are kicked out of the house so their parents can get it on. They are forced to play together even though they aren't really that fond of each other. Through over two decades of their parents' tumultuous relationship of getting together, breaking up, getting married and then divorced, Max and Diana are perpetually forced together and become the most unlikely of friends. They see each other through their own marriages and divorces, rehabs and spin-outs, career rejiggerings and epic life fails. But when they actually fall into each other, will they lose the only family they've ever known? A play about falling in and out of love with your best friend.

OUR STORYRice is simple, affordable, and filling. It can be used in haute cuisine and can serve as easy sustenance for those on a budget. As two recently out-of-a-day-job artists, Van Lang Pham and Evan Price got in a habit of sharing late night meals post-rehearsal/side-jobs/whatever and found themselves complaining and dreaming for the opportunity to find a way to create art. A way to share their passions and fears in ways that were second nature and completely unfamiliar at the same time. As time rolled along, the more they talked, the more they focused, and Midnight Rice was born.
Midnight Rice Productions is a performance Production Company focused on accessibility and equity in the art it produces. We honor the differences in each of us, we laud what makes us stand out from others, we celebrate the unique intersections of identity that define our experiences. Midnight Rice strives to showcase and uplift these stories, and to allow access to as many people possible both financially and logistically. BASICS
