Macha Monkey is rolling out our 10th season of fearless, funny, female theatre this fall! Our 2010-2011 season of new work, which features strong female characters, will run through June 2011:

MEOW Crush Cabaret, October 19th (8 PM), The Jewel Box Theatre
Macha Monkey invites you to an evening of omni-genre performance! There may be monologues, dialogues about being single, monochromatic melees, anecdotal videos about the kissing disease, solo interpretive dances -- we're liberal. "Mono" also means "Monkey" in Spanish.

With performances by: Kristina Sutherland and Alexis Holzer, Wesley K. Andrews, Bret Fetzer, Joanna Horowitz, a sneak peak of Kelleen Conway Blanchard's Hearts Are Monsters, burlesque and stand up performance, and a movie or two by Nik Perleros. Hosted by the lovely Sarah Papineau.

$10 at the Jewel Box Theatre in the Rendezvous, 2322 2nd Ave in Belltown. Doors open at 7:30pm, show at 8:00pm - drink and food service throughout. 21+ only. Cocktails are available during the performances.

Hearts Are Monsters by Kelleen Conway Blanchard, October 28th - November 20th, The Jewel Box Theatre
Hearts Are Monsters is a comedy with deadly consequences. Hearts Are Monsters features 16-year-old Marcy, a genius with a misshapen head and a love of mole rats, her pretty twin sister Wendy (a former child star who now debauches), their drunk and lonely mother, and Daddy's ghost. He seeks justice.

A new play by Kelleen Conway Blanchard and directed by Bret Fetzer, Hearts Are Monsters features Joey Gilmore, Karen Heaven, Erin Pike, Erin Stewart, and James Weidman.

Show opens 8PM Thursday October 28, and runs Fridays and Saturdays, October 29 through November 20. Special Monday night performance November 15. No shows October 30th and November 13th. Playing at the Jewel Box Theatre in the Rendezvous, 2322 2nd Ave in Belltown. 21+ only - it's bar after all...

$15/$12 at the door or advance tickets at Brown Paper Tickets. And new this year: we now accept Visa, Master Card and Discover cards at the box office.
