Book-It Repertory Theatre presents its annual Guilty Pleasures event on Tuesday, May 19, 6:00 p.m. at Teatro ZinZanni-a perfect setting for Book-It's own naughty-but-delightful Book-It-StyleTM adaptations of the books you'll never admit you read.

Every year, Co-Artistic Directors Jane Jones & Myra Platt take Book-It's mission: to transform great literature into great theatre, and turn it on end using Book-It's unique adaptation and performance style to stage some of our favorite bodice rippers, and more in a delightful bout of self-caricature.

Host "Malistaire Schnook" helms the evening's off-color array of events, and the Black Velvet Band promises that audiences will be shaken and stirred. In addition to a lineup of hilarious and campy performances in a loving send-up of the Book-It StyleTM, Guilty Pleasures offers a chance to support the company's mission through a mini auction of a dozen delectable items, including a designed-for-you dinner, weekend getaways to the best nearby destinations, a custom painting of your pet, and much more!

All-inclusive tickets are just $175. This covers the performance, pre-show cocktails, a Tom Douglas dinner and dessert menu, and wine. Tickets may be purchased online www.book-it.org or at the box office, 206.216.0833.

Patrons wishing to support Book-It's artistic and educational programs more fully can buy the right to be known as Voluptuaries or Hedonists at an additional $250/$500 (fully tax deductable) with a range of benefits befitting their titles. These special tickets are only available through the Book-It Development office, 206.216.9877, ext 100.

Sponsors for this year's Guilty Pleasures include Weyerhaeuser, the Puget Sound Business Journal, and Savage Color.
