Seattle Theatre Group (STG) in partnership with Broadway Across America (BAA) is proud to announce a new piece added to the DANCE This line up, choreographed by BURN THE FLOOR dancer Giselle Peacock. The work will mark the first time a Broadway show has contributed to DANCE This.

DANCE This is an annual youth training and performance program produced by STG. The performance brings together teen performers from diverse communities for collaboration and to share their culture through the art of dance.

Peacock will choreograph and rehearse auditioned teen ballroom dancers for one day as she stages a piece for DANCE This. Peacock is a ballroom dancer in Broadway's BURN THE FLOOR and made appearances in FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, ABC's Dancing with the Stars and NBC's Superstars of Dance. Local ballroom instructor Vanessa Villalobos (featured in the documentary Mad Hot Ballroom) will act as rehearsal director and continue mentoring the young dances to bring the dance to performance quality.

"We are ecstatic to welcome Giselle Peacock to DANCE This 2010," said Vicky Lee, STG's Director of Education and Community Programs. "Her work will round out the program already brimming with top notch guest artists and choreographers. This year's program is one not to miss."

Other highlighted professional artists include Napoleon and Tabitha D'Umo (judges and choreographers from FOX's So You Think You Can Dance), Donald Byrd (Artistic Director of Spectrum Dance Theatre in Seattle and Tony nominated choreographer of Broadway's THE COLOR PURPLE), Amy O'Neal (Artistic Director, choreographer and performer in local groups locust and amyo/tinyrage), and Massive Monkees (award winning breakdancing group).
