BPA Gallery Announces October First Friday Art Walk: Earth And The Great Weather

Join us in the BPA Gallery October 5 for an artist reception and an enjoyable evening of art and friends, with landscape and nature paintings, both realistic and abstract. Neil Johannsen and Charles Sharpe, long time Bainbridge residents and friends, are sharing this show. Charles has studied at the Gage Academy of Art and taken many workshops. Neil is self-taught and has exhibited in ten solo shows, selling more than 100 paintings into public and private collections.
Charles is an artist, musician, and woodworker who currently does display work for new exhibitions for the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Neil is retired director of Alaska State Parks, former operations chief for California State Parks. His work focuses on nature, often in an abstract and bas relief manner. Charles does landscapes, abstracts, and portraits and enjoys charcoal life drawing. This exhibit continues throughout October at Bainbridge Performing Arts.
The BPA Gallery showcases regional artists in monthly rotating exhibits in the C. Keith Birkenfeld Lobby and regularly participates in the First Friday Art Walk from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Gallery hours are 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday - Friday plus one hour prior to each performance. Admission is free, and information is available online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206.842.8569 or in person at BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island.
