Annex Theatre Presents 'my dear Lewis' 11/3-18
Annex Theatre presents my dear Lewis, written and performed by Kyle Loven. Join us Tuesdays and Wednesdays from November 3rd through the 18th and venture into a world of objects, puppets, and music. Funded and supported by the Jim Henson Foundation, this one-man show explores the ordinary and the extraordinary events that make up a person's life, and what remains when it's no longer in our hands.
my dear Lewis is the story of one man and his forgotten memories. "Lewis", at the end of his journey, is met with the task of looking back over a life lived. What unfolds is a pilgrimage made by his mind and body into the dark and dusty corners of memory. Objects, video, and puppets unexpectedly combine on an intimate scale to create a dreamlike reality where "Lewis" is encountering his resurrected past.Kyle Loven is a recent transplant to Seattle after being a Minneapolis-based artist for the past three years. His image-driven work combines puppetry, projections, objects, and other art forms with live actors. In addition to his original creations, Kyle has worked most extensively with Michael Sommers' Open Eye Figure Theatre but has also performed with Theatre de la Jeune Lune and The Children's Theatre Company. He is the recipient of a 2009 grant from the Jim Henson Foundation.
The company members of Annex Theatre continue their 23rd season by dedicating themselves to creating bold new work in an environment of improbability, resourcefulness and risk.
