ACT to Present PASSING STRANGE, RED TIGER TALES & More in 2014

A Contemporary Theatre announces a full calendar of winter and spring shows that cover a broad range of modern theatre. From new plays to unique musicals to literary and reading events to sexy cabarets, 2014 is off with a bang at ACT Theatre. On the Mainstage, ACT kicks off 2014 with a co-production of Little Shop of Horrors with The 5th Avenue Theatre, follows with the dark and desperate Bethany by Laura Marks, and then revisits the genius of Arthur Miller's classic The Price.

ACT's Central Heating Lab, which partners ACT with new and established producing companies from Seattle's vast and diverse theatrical scene, will push the envelope even further. The Central Heating Lab gives audiences a chance to see daring new works, and gives up and coming artists a chance to perform for new audiences. Balagan Theatre will bring Ernest Shackleton Loves Me to Seattle for the first time. The rock and soul musical Passing Strange will make its Seattle debut with Leroy Bell singing the role of Stew. Sex and politics take to the stage in Stephanie Timm's new drama Tails of Wasps and it gets even steamier in the underground Bullitt Cabaret when Seattle Vice examines just how far you could go in a thoroughly corrupt and sleazy Seattle circa 1965. That's just a snippet of what's in store for the first part of 2014 at ACT.
