Shakespeare's Globe has announced the 201920 Sam Wanamaker Playhouse Season. Centred around She Wolves and Shrews, the season is a celebration and interrogation of women, power, and the role of the feminine in shaping our past, present and future. The candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse will play host to a world-premiere of Ella Hickson's new play Swive [Elizabeth], Shakespeare's Henry VI, Richard III, and The Taming of the Shrew, and Middleton's Women Beware Women. Sandi and Jenifer Toksvig have written a new family show dubbed, Christmas at the (Snow) Globe, and a series of candlelit ghost tales will include a new story from Jeanette Winterson. Other events running throughout the season include half-term storytelling festival, Half Term Tales at the Globe, with the new Children's Laureate Cressida Cowell, and a double bill of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own and Three Guineas, marking the centenary year since the removal of the sex disqualification act. The Globe's flagship project for secondary and post-16 students, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank, reaches its 14th year with Macbeth.

Join members of the Broadway community for an inspiring evening of heart-centered music and musings honoring the fearless Maggie Hollinbeck (ONCE TOUR). Ticket proceeds will go directly to Ms. Hollinbeck, a two-time breast cancer survivor, to offset her recent medical costs and assist on her valiant road to recovery. The event will be on Monday, May 13 at The Triad at 7PM (doors open at 6:30PM). The Triad is located at 158 W. 72nd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus on the Upper West Side. The 120 minute tribute celebration begins with Phyllis Hyman's Disco Hit produced by New York's Own James Mtume 'You Know How To Love Me,' to Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Ladies Medley-Sophisticated Ladies, A Train, It Don't Mean A Thing, In A Sentimental Mood" to her pivotal vocal performance in Brooklyn's own Spike Lee's "School Daze" singing "Be One" to her recording career beginning with Veteran Producer Norman Connors singing "Betcha By Golly Wow" to her favorite songs "What You Won't Do For Love," to "Old Friend" a song she would dedicate to her numerous dear friends who died of AIDS in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

Throughout the summer, actors and members of the creative team for the upcoming Broadway production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time have been visiting QSAC's (Quality Services for the Autism Community) programs for students with Asperger's Syndrome. The visits have been a part of an effort by the show's production team to gain a deeper understanding regarding the life experience of young adults with Asperger's, their families, and their educators.
