Comedian and Twitch streamer Bilal Zafar (Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee, as seen on Catastrophe, Such Brave Girls, Sick of It, Last Christmas) brings their latest Edinburgh Fringe show, Rubicon, to Underbelly Bristo Square (Jersey) between August 5th - 30th.

A brand-new, never-before-experienced experience, Bilal Zafar's Rubicon brings the interactive and innovative joy that he has used to entertain thousands on Twitch to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time.

Part stand-up, part-gameshow, Rubicon draws its inspiration from the popular drink - but, more than simply a refreshing tipple (other fruit-based beverages are available), Rubicon helps Bilal satisfy a thirst for understanding some delicate issues of class and race. All that and games and prizes (not fruit drinks) to be won too.

Showcasing his skills with audio and video, Bilal creates a surreal and immersive atmosphere that blurs the line between live performance and digital entertainment. A tonic for the ears and the eyes.

Bilal Zafar is an Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee and winner of The Hackney Empire Competition. His new show has been nominated for Best New Show at The Leicester Comedy Festival and he has appeared on BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4 and BBC Radio 4. As well as live performance, Bilal has built an active online audience through creating short films and sketches on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. Meanwhile, his popular surreal improvised show as an unhinged Football manager, Hot Peppsy, features on his successful Twitch channel. Bilal has written for The Guardian, Metro and The Independent.

An accomplished actor, Bilal has appeared in Channel 4 sitcom Catastrophe, Sky sitcom Sick of It, Kat Sadler's acclaimed BBC sitcom, Such Brave Girls, and the Paul Feig-directed feature film Last Christmas. Bilal has also appeared in a series of online sketches featuring Nick Helm, Stevie Martin and Richard Herring, among others.
