ALWAYS, SOMETIMES, MAYBE Will Return to Edinburgh Fringe This August
Michele Stine's clowning and puppetry show performs at ZOO Playground's Playground 3.
Clowning artist Michele Stine is set to make a return to Edinburgh Fringe this August, with her hit show Always, Sometimes, Maybe, following a successful critically acclaimed run last year.
Always, Sometimes, Maybe follows Lou, a janitor who feels so lonely she makes friends out of trash. Lou unexpectedly finds herself with an audience. With nothing but her rubbish and a lot of imagination, she tries to find connection. Drawing upon Stine's physical comedy and puppetry skills, the show brings to life a story which explores the funny and wild journey into what it feels like to be alone - and, how we might find our way back to each other. Audiences can expect a funny, heart-felt show shining a light on loneliness, and our search for connection which touches upon themes of neurodiversity and what it's like to feel 'different' to others.
Always, Sometimes, Maybe is performed and created by Michele Stine. Stine is a Chicago based performer, specialising in clown, puppetry, and physical theatre. She has been performing around the world for over fifteen years, and has been lucky to have collaborated with artists from Scotland, Ukraine, and England, as well as with companies around the US. Stine was awarded the DCASE Individual Artist Program Grant in 2025 for Always, Sometimes, Maybe to tour to the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and was selected to be a part of the 2024/2025 Chicago Puppet Lab residency through the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival to develop her new puppet show, AudioFile.
Always, Sometimes, Maybe is performing at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 7th - 30th (not 17th and 24th) August at 18.25pm (60 mins), Playground 3 at ZOO Playground (venue number 186).
