Artists Series Concerts of Sarasota presents the genre-bending trio Take 3 in "The Beatles to Broadway," Sunday, January 28, 3:00 p.m., at Venice Performing Arts Center, 1 Indian Avenue, Venice. Lindsay Deutsch, violin, Susan Boettger, piano, and Lila Yang, cello, perform a multifaceted program that includes tangos, music from the movies, Broadway and familiar classics-presented with a flair for the wild and unexpected. The program features works by Gershwin, Prokofiev, Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and more. Tickets are $30-$45 and are available online at www.artistseriesconcerts.org or by calling 941-306-1202. $10 Student tickets are available with current student ID at the door.

"Take 3 brings the refinement of a rigorous classical background and mixes it with rock star charisma," says Joseph Holt, artistic director of Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota. "Whether performing their take on pop, jazz, or classical tunes, they bring enthusiasm to their interpretations and impart their love of music to audiences of all musical preferences."

Violinist Lindsay Deutsch is a sought-after soloist who tours as the solo violinist with Yanni. Maestro Jung-Ho Pak, conductor and artistic director of the Cape Symphony Orchestra, says of Deutsch: "In a time when every concert has to be unforgettable and a gamechanger, Lindsay can make that happen every time." Susan Boettger is chair of piano at Irvine Valley College and a concert pianist who has performed concertos with the New West Symphony, Pasadena Symphony, the Orange County Chamber Orchestra and others. A recipient of numerous awards in chamber, orchestral and solo repertoires, cellist Lila Yang has performed in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, and Alice Tully Hall.
