Ravel's Boléro opens the New World Symphony's 2026-27 season at New World Center, with Artistic Director Stéphane Denève leading the NWS Fellows alongside violinist Anne Akiko Meyers and NWS Conducting Fellow Ziwei Ma. The program features Gabriela Ortiz's Kauyumari, which weaves an ancestral Huichol melody into orchestral texture, and Arturo Márquez's Fandango, a violin concerto that won two Latin Grammy Awards in 2024 for Best Classical Album and Best Contemporary Classical Composition. Debussy's Ibéria, an impressionistic portrait of Spain, and Ravel's Boléro, with custom visuals by NWS Media, round out the program.
