Legendary vocalist/actress Freda Payne celebrates the releases of her new jazz album, "Let There Be Love" and her memoir, "Band Of Gold", at the historic Orinda Theatre. Recorded at the iconic Capitol Records "Studio A" with a live big band and the finest jazz studio musicians, "Let There Be Love" features duets with a few of Freda's Grammy legend friends including Johnny Mathis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Kurt Elling and soul crooner Kenny Latimore. "Let There Be Love" has just received an NAACP Award nomination for Outstanding Jazz Vocal Album!Known for her classic 70's hits "Band Of Gold" and "Bring the Boys Home", Freda Payne started her career in jazz, working with Quincy Jones, Manny Albam and Pearl Bailey.
