The Kathryn Keats Show Plays Yoshi’s Oakland, 7/8
By: BWW News Desk
Singer/songwriter Kathryn Keats and her band of renowned Bay Area musicians will perform two shows at Yoshi's jazz club in Oakland, California on Thursday, July 8. The band includes master percussionist Joe Venegoni, Grammy-nominated bassist Michael Manring, internationally known Brazilian drummer Celso Alberti, trumpeter Jeff Oster, acclaimed pianist Kelly Park, and guitar virtuoso Tom Lattanand.
Joining the band for a special song will be 12-year-old keyboardist and singer Ben Babylon, son of the late Guy Babylon, who was Elton John's keyboardist and arranger for 21 years. The younger Babylon is following in his father's footsteps under the tutelage of Elton John, who remains close to the Babylon family. Ben has composed a stirring tribute to his father, "Goodbye Superman," which he will perform with Keats' band. It will be his first appearance in the Bay Area."Ben Babylon is an amazing talent and we are thrilled that he will be performing with The Kathryn Keats Show," Keats said. "He is a fantastic songwriter and musician. Elton John's influence on him is clear."
