The Empress Theatre Presents Jimmy Smith Band Saturday, June 30 After almost a decade of great live music and three Blues albums, the Jimmy Smith Band bids farewell to the Bay Area with an exciting "Good Bye" Show at the Empress Theater. There will be lots of surprises and special guests!

Over the years, Jimmy's keyboards have partnered with a diverse group of musicians and bands, including Doyle Bramhall III, Steve Kimock, Luther Tucker, Charlie Musslewhite, Nick Gravenites, Norton Buffalo, Larry Graham, Robert Palmer, Guitar Shorty, Little Jimmy Reed, Kenny Neal, Freddie Roulette, Sonny Rhodes, and Tia Carroll. Jimmy's bands have opened for such greats as Bonnie Raitt, Tower of Power, Little Feat, and the Average White Band.

The band's third album, T'Bird and a Redhead, is an ensemble blues collection, pure and simple, featuring ten covers and the original title track. Jimmy Smith is a craftsman, with a conversational tone and laid-back style, he gets the job done.
