THE AMERICA PLAY Runs Nov 21-Dec 14 at the Thick House
Thick Description, Potrero Hill’s professional theater, continues 2008 – our 20th anniversary year –
with a revival of our 1994 hit, THE AMERICA PLAY, by Pulitzer Prize- winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks. Powerful imagery, poignant metaphor and lyric prose drive Parks’ exploration of the American
dream of greatness, and the impulse – creative, and destructive – to find one’s place in the pattern of history.
THE AMERICA PLAY runs November 21 through December 14, at the Thick House, 1695 18th Street on Potrero Hill in San Francisco. Opening Night is Sunday, November 23. Preview performances (at which audience members are paid $1.00 to attend) are Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22. Press Night is Sunday, November 23, please.
Performances are Thursdays through Sundays at 8pm, except on Thanksgiving Night, Thursday, November 27. Tickets are $30-15, sliding scale; to purchase, call 415 / 401-8081 or visit www.thickhouse.org.
