TARTUFFE Plays Gallo Center, Now thru 7/29
Prospect Theater Project and the Gallo Center for the Arts are joining again to bring Tartuffe, the comedy by French playwright Molière, to the Gallo Center stage tonight, July 27-July 29, 2012. Tartuffe follows two highly successful past partnerships between the Prospect Theater Project and the Gallo Center for the Arts; To Kill A Mockingbird in 2011 and The Grapes of Wrath in May 2012.
Based off Miles Malleson’s free adaptation of the comedy classic, Tartuffe follows the story of Orgon, a misguided husband and head of the household who takes in a pious strange who isn’t as righteous as he seems. Prospect Theater’s Artistic Director Jack Souza brings a twist to the story written in 1664 by setting it in 1950’s New Orleans.
Tarfuffe are plays in the Foster Family Theater at the Gallo Center tonight, July 27 and Saturday, July 28 at 8:00 PM. A 2:00 PM matinee will be shown on Sunday, July 29.
Tickets are on sale now and range from $8 to $15. Groups of 15 or more are eligible for a 15% discount. For tickets and more information, visit www.galloarts.org or call (209) 338-2100.
