Stephen Schwartz's PRINCE OF EGYPT Musical Readies for Fall Silicon Valley Debut

As previously announced, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its mission to bring new works to Bay Area audiences with the World Premiere of The Prince of Egypt, a soaring celebration of the human spirit inspired by the acclaimed Dreamworks Animation film, running October 6 - November 5, 2017 at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.
The musical score and lyrics come from Grammy and Oscar winning composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin), with book by Hollywood screenwriter Philip LaZebnik (Pocahontas, Mulan), who will both be in residence at TheatreWorks creating this stage adaptation of the first-ever animated film produced and released by DreamWorks Pictures.
Featuring the Oscar-winning Best Song "When You Believe," which became a top single in a pop version released by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, The Prince of Egypt was the most successful non-Disney animated film released at the time.
This breathtaking new stage musical will be directed by multi-award-winning Broadway director Scott Schwartz, and features a dazzling, multi-ethnic cast in one of the greatest stories ever told: the saga of Moses, his Pharaoh brother Ramses, and the indomitable people who changed them both forever.
