Ross Valley Players Presents ALL MY SONS, Now thru 6/16

Ross Valley Players presents for its fifth production of the season the Tony award winning play All My Sons, a deeply engaging tale of morality and conscience by renowned playwright Arthur Miller. Two years after World War II, the Keller family is torn apart by their patriarch's moral weakness and a shameful family secret. With great tenderness and compassion, this searing saga explores the ever changing sense of family, social responsibility, and values still relevant today, as two very different generations seek to heal and rebuild. All My Sons tells the story of Joe Keller (Craig Christiansen), a self-made businessman who lives a comfortable life with his wife, Kate (Kristine Ann Lowry), and returning war veteran son, Chris (Francis Serpa), in a suburban middle American neighborhood. They have only one sadness in their lives - the loss of their other younger son, Larry, who went missing in World War II. While Kate still believes Larry is coming back, Chris believes otherwise and would like her to give up that hope so he can marry Ann (Amber Collins Crane), Larry's former fiancée and the daughter of Steve Deever, Joe's former business partner. Secrets and rumors race about the true story behind the accusation held against Joe and Steve for selling defective airplane parts to the US Army. While Joe's name is cleared he falsely places the entire blame on Steve who is sent to jail. Inspired by a true story, All My Sons is an unforgettable family drama about loss, love, and loyalties that escalates to an electrifying climax. All My Sons is directed by Caroline Altman, produced by Wood Lockhart.

Performances are Thursday, May 16, 2013 (Preview Night) through Sunday, June 16, with Opening Night on Friday, May 17 at 8PM. RegularThursday performances are at 7:30PM; Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM; Sunday matinees at 2PM. (Please note there is no matinee on Sunday, May 19.) All performances take place at the Barn Theatre, home of the Ross Valley Players - 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Ross, CA 94957. Ticket prices are $22 for Seniors 62+ and children 18 and under; $26 general admission. Preview night ticket prices are $10 for children and students (with valid student ID); $15 general admission. Thursday night tickets prices are $20 for all ages (does not include Thursday preview night.)

Audience members are invited to participate in "Talkback" with the director and actors after performances on Sunday, May 26 and Sunday, June 9. Buzz at the Barn, a pre-show cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres and wine, will take place on Saturday. May 18 at 7PM.

Now in its 83rd year, Ross Valley Players, a non-profit arts organization, is the oldest continually operating community theater on the West Coast. Created in 1930 as a way to escape the hardships of the Depression, Ross Valley Players has introduced live theater to thousands of Marin residents over the years. Each year, RVP presents a regular season of six full productions, running a total of 30 weeks. RVP offers special events and short-term productions outside the regular season. Plays include recent Broadway material, popular plays, classic theater, and a selection of works by well-known playwrights from around the world. RVP features all genres: comedy, drama, mysteries, and musicals. Their Ross Alternative Works (RAW) program presents short run, minimal set productions of original scripts by Bay Area playwrights in two festivals each season.
