"Our summer camp is an exciting and engaging place for students to learn what it's like to put on a full-scale professional production while exploring the world of theatre through their own creativity and individuality."

The Conservatory at Hillbarn Theatre is a year-round performing arts conservatory with four main programs: Mainstage musicals at Hillbarn, Classes at Hillbarn, Outreach Enrichment classes and camps, and Outreach Productions in/at local schools. Its primary focus is to create a safe place where young people of all levels of talent and experience can build and hone their performance skills while developing self-esteem, teamwork skills, and friendships that will last a lifetime. Classes are for youth ages 4 to 18 as well as adults and provide students with the opportunity to work with Hillbarn's staff of trained theatre professionals.

2018 SUMMERSTAGE SEASON

Honk! Jr.
Grades 3-5
July 20 - 22, 2018
Based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling," Honk! tells the story of an odd-looking baby duck, Ugly. Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. Feeling rather foul about himself, this little duck finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Guys and Dolls Jr.
Middle School
July 27 - 29, 2018
Guys and Dolls Jr. is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. From Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, into the sewers of New York City, eventually, everyone ends up right where they belong.

Bring It On: The Musical
High School
August 3 - 5, 2018
Bring It On: The Musical tells the story of Campbell Davis, a young cheerleader who dreams of leading her squad to victory at a National competition. The story focuses on the world of competitive cheerleading and the intense rivalries it creates. Campbell's future is secure: a handsome boyfriend, a killer squad, and the newly awarded title of the cheer captain. Suddenly, however, she is mysteriously reassigned to another school: the inner-city Jackson High, where she knows hardly anyone and worse: they don't have a cheerleading squad! Despite the challenges of fitting in at a new school, Campbell befriends some tough girls on the dance squad and helps them become a powerhouse competitor for the National Cheerleading Championships.
