Hillbarn Theatre Hosts Annual Gala, 'Reach For The Stars' Today
Today, Hillbarn Theatre's Executive Artistic Director Dan Demers announced REACH FOR THE STARS 2018-Hillbarn's largest annual fundraising gala-taking place at the Hillsborough Racquet Club (252 El Cerrito Avenue) on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Proceeds from the gala will support Hillbarn Theatre's Mainstage and Conservatory programs, as well as its community arts initiatives throughout the Bay Area. Individual tickets are $250 and available now at hillbarntheatre.org/reach-for-the-stars/.
The celebratory evening begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception and silent auction. Immediately after, guests will be treated to live entertainment by some of the Hillbarn's brightest talent and a live auction featuring unique and one-of-a-kind items and experiences.
"Last year, our annual gala raised more than $80,000," says Demers. "This event is crucial to supporting Hillbarn Theatre's initiatives-from our MainStage productions to our transformative Conservatory program. All funds raised on this wonderful evening will go to support the creation of great art, classes, actors, and students who enrich not only their lives, but the lives of people who attend our shows." "
Led by co-chairs Craig Courtin and Lisa WolfKlain, the host committee for Reach for the Stars 2018 includes Daniel Brown, Liz Buljan, Doris Duncan, Saili Gosula, Paul Hockett, Brooke Knight, Linda Koelling, Sara Steppe, Jeff Schneider, Paul Regan and Jan Pickering.
Since 1941, the historic Hillbarn Theatre has served the San Francisco Bay Area by embracing this founding ideal - to create theatre with the community, for the community, striving always for excellence in production and education. Hillbarn has won a Theater Critics Circle Award, was accepted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, was honored with several mayoral proclamations for excellence in theatrical production and education, and received three Dean Goodman Awards for Artistic Excellence.
