Due to popular demand, sold-out houses, and nightly standing ovations, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announced this morning an additional and final performance of San Francisco's biggest hit, Humor Abuse, Lorenzo Pisoni's one-man tour-de-force story of growing up as the youngest member of the Pickle Family Circus. The final performance will be on Sunday, February 5, at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at www.act-sf.org or by phone at 415.749.2228.

"The Bay Area has simply fallen in love with Lorenzo and Humor Abuse," says A.C.T. Artistic Director Carey Perloff. "Watching audiences, young and old, experience this incredible story of art, adolescence, and pratfalls has been one of the great joys of the season. We're thrilled we are able to add one final performance this coming Sunday."

"I feel so lucky to be able to perform Humor Abuse at A.C.T., where I grew up going to see theater. That audiences have reacted with such overwhelming enthusiasm to this journey is beyond expectation," says Pisoni.

As part of the new A.C.T. Family Series program, Paoli Lacy, celebrated clown and former director of the Clown College at the famed Circus Center in San Francisco, will lead a family-friendly interactive workshop designed to give attendees a glimpse into the physical art of clowning. The workshop will be held on Saturday, February 4, at 1 p.m. This workshop is free for ticketholders to the Saturday, February 4, matinee performance. The A.C.T. Family Series is a brand-new subscription program which introduces young people (ages 11–19) and their parents to the wonders of live performance. Enjoy Saturday matinee performances and lively, behind-the-scenes workshops led by A.C.T. and Bay Area artists designed to give all members a fun, hands-on experience with each production. Tickets are available by calling the A.C.T. Box Office at 415.749.2228 or at act-sf.org.

Humor Abuse is stage-managed by Hannah Cohen.

A.C.T.'s production of Humor Abuse is made possible by producer Marilee K. Gardner. A.C.T. would also like to acknowledge its 2011–12 season company sponsors Ray and Dagmar Dolby, Frannie and Mort Fleishhacker, Ambassador James C. Hormel and Michael P. Nguyen, Koret Foundation, Fred M. Levin and Nancy Livingston, The Shenson Foundation, Burt and Deedee McMurtry, Patti and Rusty Rueff, Mary and Steven Swig, Doug Tilden, and Jeff and Laurie Ubben.
