Willows Theatre to present award-winner and theatergoer favorite ‘On Golden Pond,' Mar 23-Apr 19

Features Bay Area favorites Stu Klitsner and Barbara Grant as curmudgeonly professor and his wise and knowing wife

If you want to pick a theatre masterpiece about marriage that sits at the opposite end of the spectrum from Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, you'd hardly do better than naming On Golden Pond. Playwright Ernest Thompson's exploration of the enduring relationship between a couple that has been together well over 50 years has won a theatrical trunkload of awards and is a favorite of three generations of audiences.

"A work of rare simplicity and beauty." -NY Daily News.
"...a rare and memorable theatrical experience..." -Variety.
"What courage it must have taken for Mr. Thompson in the 1970s to write a play with so much affection in it!" -The New Yorker.

The much-heralded ‘On Golden Pond' has won 3 Tony Awards, 5 Drama Desk Awards, 10 Academy Awards & nominations, 6 Golden Globes & nominations.

The Willows Theatre is extremely proud to present Ernest Thompson's On Golden Pond, March 23 - April 19, 2009. The show is directed by Richard Elliott and stars veteran regional theater actors Barbara Grant and Stu Klitsner. The Willows Theatre is located at 1975 Diamond Blvd. (in the Willows Shopping Center), Concord, CA 94520.
